Our weekly worship service is on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am and we meet at Rex Putnam Highschool.

Come on into the parking lot and follow the signs and enter through the side entrance just past the reader board. We look forward to meeting you!

The Heart of Life Journey

To be witnesses of the good news of Jesus Christ in Milwaukie, the greater Portland area and then as God enables us, to the ends of the Earth. Jesus was the One with the vision & appeal…we simply desire to be obedient in living it out (Acts 1:8; also Matt. 28:19-20).

Significance and Urgency of our Mission

The church is not God’s “plan A” to share His message with the world (as if He has some other plan if/when that one fails)… it is God’s plan! Though we are oftentimes extremely poor examples, God has given to us (His saints…those who have put their faith & hope in Him) the great responsibility of sharing with our world the message from our Creator (2 Cor. 2:14-16; 5:18-21). We do this not to “earn” anything from Him but simply because of our love for Him and our understanding of who He is (Acts 20:22-24; 2 Cor. 5:14). Our message is one of hope & assurance. In a world full of hurt, bondage and brokenness, it is this message (Jn. 3:16-17; 14:6; 20:31) that everyone deserves to hear and have the opportunity to respond to. It is our privilege to partner with our God and Savior in what He is doing in our world…because He has not given up on us and His desire is for everyone to know Him (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9).

Therefore

It is our commitment & desire at Life Journey to do whatever we can.

Final Thoughts

This is the heart & desire of our church. From the beginning it has been our desire to personally and collectively get to know our God better daily and to use the resources, abilities and influence that He has given us to make Him known. There are many options when it comes to gathering together with a local church but as members of this community, we choose to gather in Milwaukie and set up shop here. As there are many other local gatherings of Believers in our community, we desire to partner with these folks to best utilize our gifts for the building up of the Body and the betterment of this community & the world.

A couple of the key questions that we are asking for God to bring clarity to is: What does this community need? And what is the best way for us to respond to those needs? We understand that there are times when we will fail and screw up, when we will look more like the world than we do like Christ… quite honestly, we know and confess that we are knuckleheads. But we’re knuckleheads who have been saved and changed (2 Cor. 5:17) by the grace of a loving, compassionate & faithful God. He IS at work in us, sanctifying us…we are not the same today as we were yesterday and as we yield ourselves to Him more completely, we will see Him at work in us in greater ways tomorrow. We believe this with all of our hearts and desire to live life one day at a time…as intentionally as we can. Doing the next right thing. Loving people as we love Christ.
